Manifesting Less Stress with Adaptogens

If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, you have probably seen me post my obnoxiously long stories about my smoothies, Adaptogens and cycle syncing. If you haven’t, then you are truly missing out! Over the past year, I have moved to a new city, started my first big girl job and been in love in a long distance relationship. All of this has been a huge adjustment from college life.

In the past 6 months, I have been dealing with stress, ovarian cysts, acne, and weight gain. My body was reacting to the stress it was facing in my everyday life. After meeting with my Gynecologist, she thought the best solution for me was to be on the pill. I disagreed. This is when I made the decision to meet with a Naturopath to find a holistic and natural solution to controlling my anxiety and stress and regulate my hormones.

It was also at this time that I found Adaptogens. What are Adaptogens you may ask? They are a magical, natural herbal substance that is used to help improve the health of your adrenal system, the system that is in charge of managing your body’s hormonal response to stress.

Did you know that food is the number one medicine? What you put into your body controls how your body works. When you energize with healthy, organic, natural foods your body runs smoothly and stays clear of sickness and disease. Adaptogens have been used for thousands of years in many nonwestern cultures as natural healers. They are great when added to smoothies, teas or created into tonics. I usually like to add mine to my morning smoothies and each one has a different benefit!

Since adding Adaptogens into my diet, I have felt more energized, clear minded and less stressed. My favorite brands to order from are Sun Potion and Moon Juice. If you are feeling really ballsy and on a tight budget, you can even make your own! Everyone’s body reacts differently and so I recommend speaking to your doctor before adding new supplements into your routine.
